Monthly Favourites // October 2016

I'm freeeeeeeeeee! (from assessment). Yep, that's right - I am officially on holidays for the year! The last week has been intense as I've been wall to wall with massive assignments but I am done! Which means I can get back into the swing of blogging (hopefully!). I have a few post ideas in the pipeline, but we're kicking it off today with my October favourites. I got a few new things last month that I've been loving using - so we actually have new stuff to talk about! Though, there are still some old faves in here - classique. Let's dive in, shall we?

MooGoo Fresh Cream Deodorant
So, I've been meaning to start using a natural, aluminium free deodorant for the longest time! A few years back I used to use a deodorant crystal which worked quite well but I lost it haha. Not too long ago though, I saw a bunch of bloggers doing a 28 day challenge of using the MooGoo deodorant and they all had great things to say about it! I went ahead and picked it up and I've really been liking it. I'd like to think I'm not a sweaty or smelly person, some days I don't even wear deodorant if I'm not doing any ~brisk~ activity :P So, I thought a light deodorant would work quite well! I still use my Dove one for the gym though! Anyway, I do really like this deodorant. I feel like I don't really smell at the end of the day, and I'm pretty dry, though the most strenuous activity I've done while wearing it is walking on a warm day - albeit fast walking because I'm late for the train :P. I don't quite know how it will hold up on a hot and humid one (which the weather just about is now :( ). The one negative though is that it does leave white marks on my underarms. I haven't noticed it transfer to my clothes, but it's almost like the cream dries into a powdery white finish which is quite obvious!

Skinstitut Glycolic Cleanser 12%*
I featured the scrub version of this in my August favourites and I'm still loving that one! I have been using this cleanser most days though. Even though it has a high concentration of glycolic acid, it's not at all drying or irritating. It has a creamy-gel texture and feels quite pleasant actually and is gentle enough to use everyday! It's a really great way of incorporating some form of chemical exfoliation into your daily routine!

I've been using this perfume almost daily for the past month and a bit. I really like it! It's unisex so I find it really classy, and not sweet or really girly and different to anything else I own. It find it to be woody and fresh and quite lightweight!

Ciate x Chloe Morello Pretty Fun Fearless Palette
I only got this halfway through October, but I've used it every time I've worn makeup since! Granted, I haven't been wearing makeup much, what with being holed up at home studying -_-. It's a really lovely palette though. My favourite thing about it is the shade range. As expected, I've been getting the most use out of the warm tones, but the mauve shade jet setter is also amazing! The shadow formula is good, but not outstanding. It's a pleasure to use, the shades are pigmented and blendable. The shimmers aren't super intense though, and more like a sheer sheen? Definitely a palette I can see becoming a go-to for me though!

Heroine Make Long and Curl Mascara
I haven't mentioned this guy in a while, but it's still kicking and still an awesome mascara! It holds a curl and lasts well, though it does smudge a little on me. Out of all my current mascaras though, this is the one I go to for when I want especially long, fluttery and slightly dramatic lashes. I don't think Asian mascaras will ever fail me!

L'oreal True Match Powder in W3
I recently finished my Australis Fresh and Flawless powder (finally! oh my gawd) which meant I could get to using this on the daily. It looks quite pale, but I've finally accepted that I'm actually way paler than I think (I blame my body for being 5 shades darker than my face -_- ) so it actually suits me perfectly. I love the texture of this powder, it's very creamy but lightweight. It sets the skin and mattifies slightly, but doesn't ever look dry.

My absolute favourite shade from the 15th Anniversary collection, My Nude has been getting a serious workout from me! It's a medium peachy-brown nude shade that I find suits any makeup look! I love the formula too. It's creamy, pigmented, lasts decently and is just all round a really comfortable lip product!
