It's empties time again, and I'm happy to say I've made it through quite a few skincare products! I'm really trying to focus on actually finishing (skincare and body) products before opening new ones, and so far it's working well. It also means I've been sticking to a consistent skincare routine which my skin is definitely thanking me for! Let's dig in, shall we?
Trilogy Hydrating Mist Toner*
This is my second bottle of the stuff and I do really like it! That being said, when it comes to mist toners, I'm really not that fussy. I'm happy if it hydrates and refreshes my skin! I do particularly like the spray of this bottle though - the mist is so super fine and really veils the skin with moisture rather than aggressively spraying and wetting your face haha.
Repurchase? I just bought a jumbo of the Mario Badescu spray which I do think I prefer, but would definitely use this again in the future!
People for Plants Face Oil*
You guys know I'm constantly trying new face oils because I go through them so quickly! They are an absolute must in my routine, and this one was quite nice! It contained argan, pomegranate and milk thistle and I found it to be very moisturising, but fast absorbing. It's hard to tell whether it had any drastic effects (like with most face oils), but I definitely think it helped plump up my skin, moisturise it and gradually even out my skintone.
Repurchase? When it comes to face oils - it's nothing special, but it did the job well, so probably wouldn't repurchase but would use again.
Bliss Peeling Groovy Facial Serum*
This was an interesting serum - it was a clear liquid that is an exfoliating, "peeling" serum that actually doesn't contain any AHAs or BHAs making it quite gentle. I used it every night and didn't notice immediate, drastic differences, but I will say over prolonged use I think it helped smooth skin texture and even skin tone. It is quite gentle and non-irritating so one I would recommend for sensitive skins or exfoliating beginners. For me, I think I like something a little stronger!
Repurchase? Probably not.
Antipodes Apostle Skin Brightening Serum*
It took a bit of time, but I really warmed up to this serum! I loved it in the morning as it had quite a watery consistency that absorbed immediately leaving my skin feeling slightly hydrated. I think with consistent and prolonged use, it definitely helped to gradually even out my skintone for a brighter complexion. It's very gentle and natural so it doesn't clash with any other chemical exfoliating products.
Repurchase? Not right now as I'm working through some other serums, but would in the future!
Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream*
I'm sadly finishing up a lot of my Antipodes skincare! I must say, when I started using a lot of Antipodes products, my skin started to drastically improve so that's definitely a testament to their products! I absolutely loved this day cream - very moisturising, smoothing and gave my skin a healthy supple look. While it is very creamy, it wasn't heavy and didn't overload my skin at all - sat perfectly under makeup!
Repurchase? Using a different day cream right now, but would for sure go for this again.
Garnier Miracle Sleeping Cream
Yeesss I finished the half empty tub that was sitting in my drawers. I really did enjoy this cream though. The texture was so divine - it was like a a gel-jelly-cream that felt so nice, smooth and moisturising on the skin. It's really difficult to explain, but it's very soft feeling and really absorbed well into the skin but wasn't too heavy or oily. I think the scent is supposed to make you fall asleep easier but I didn't notice that haha!
Repurchase? Not right now, but would in the future!
Australis Fresh and Flawless Powder in Darkest Brown
Omggg I finally finished it! Can ya believe it. This has legitimately been in my collection since the VERY beginning (as you can tell, I completely ignore makeup expiration rules... :P ). I must say, this is a great drugstore powder. Touted as a dupe for MAC Studio Fix, this powder sets makeup and adds a bit of extra coverage. It mattifies slightly, but doesn't look dry or cakey on the skin - provided you don't apply a tonne of it!
Repurchase? Nah. I would totally recommend it - but I need a break from using it haha!
Max Factor Face Finity All Day Primer
My holy grail primer?? I freaking love this stuff. It definitely helps prolong the wear of my makeup and control oil slightly. By the end of the day, a bit of oil will come through, but the actual makeup is still very much in tact and not patchy or gross. Despite it being long wearing, it's not at all drying!
Repurchase? Already have!
Natura Siberica Oblepikha Shower Gel*
I really liked this shower gel! The scent may be polarising - it's like citrusy and fruity, but not zingy as you might expect. It's difficult to explain, but almost like jam but not sweet - if that makes sense... It was lovely though - it lathered well and left me feeling clean and even a little moisturised!
Repurchase? I've got quite a few soapy prods to get through, but would use again!
Premium Spa SOS Moisture Balm*
I wasn't the biggest fan of this one to be honest. When you initially apply it - it feels really nice! It's like a lotion cream consistency that feels ultra mositurising as you rub it in. That being said, it absorbs very quickly and I found that my skin felt dry after a while. My skin felt moisturised to a degree but I just felt like it absorbed into nothing? Type of a thing? I made it through the whole tube though, so it wasn't terrible haha. The scent is alright - nothing to write home about!
Repurchase? Nah.
Weleda Almond Sensitive Skin Hand Cream*
I really liked this stuff! It is a lightweight lotion consistency that absorbs so quickly but does moisturise my hands! It doesn't leave my hands feeling greasy or product-laden at all, so it's a great desk option for when you need to get straight back to work. This sensitive version was really nice and had a non-offensive scent. It didn't aggravate the sensitive dryness (sometimes rash) that I can get on my fingers sometimes and actually soothed it!
Repurchase? Once I finish some of my current hand creams, I'd definitely pick it up again!
