It's been a loooong, long time since I've done any sort of "daily makeup" routine post on the blog, and seeing as I've stuck to a pretty solid routine for the past several months, I figured I should update you guys! This post will also serve somewhat as a September favourites as I haven't really been using or loving anything new, just the same old shiz! I think that will change in the coming months though as I've broken my spending ban (a pretty lax one at that) and made a Colourpop order, and I anticipate I will be buying a bunch more with the impending holiday releases! I'm pretty proud of myself though, I pretty much hadn't bought anything since the Sweet Peach Palette which was all the way back in May! Anyway, if any of y'all are OG readers, some of these products might take you waaay back into the archives! I should say, I don't necessarily wear this makeup everyday but this look is typically my go-to for work (without the eye products) or long days at uni!
BASE //
Max Factor Face Finity All Day Primer
I'm legitimately almost finished this which is kind of exciting?! It's not often that I finish a product so quickly, so it's a testament to how much I love and use this primer! It really does prolong the wear of my makeup and slightly help control oil without drying out my skin.
L'oreal Mattifying Infallible Foundation in 22 Radiant Beige and Garnier Oily/Combination BB Cream in Medium
The combination of these products gives me a great light-medium coverage base, with a satin-natural finish and great lasting power. The Garnier BB cream has been kicking around in my collection for probably too long, but I swear I'm almost finished it! The colour is way too dark for me, so I even it out by mixing it with the L'oreal which is slightly too light.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger
K guys, I think I've established that I have a love-hate relationship with this. I used to loooove it, but then I went off it for a bit in favour of the Maybelline Fit Me concealer which, ultimately, I think I prefer. NARS has better coverage and lasting power, but a much drier texture which can exacerbate dry patches. Also, Ginger is slightly too dark for me so it can sometimes look a little blotchy. I'm just trying to use this to finish it though and I don't think I'll be repurchasing!
This is my favourite drugstore concealer! I use Sand as my undereye-slightly-highlighting shade and it works excellently there. This formula also works super well around the face though.
Australis Fresh and Flawless powder in Darkest Brown
Y'all know this is an ooooold product - that retro packaging and major pan! I think this is the last hurrah for this product - it's getting majorly hard to get product out so I'll be chucking it in my next empties! It's served me well though - a really great budget powder that adds a bit of coverage, sets and mattifies without looking dry or cakey!
I've spoken quite a bit about this before, I don't much care for the highlighter (too silvery for me), but the contour is an amazing "brontour" shade. It's a slightly warm matte brown that adds definition and warmth to the face. Excellent formula - pigmented and smooth but blends easily! It's so well loved that the lid broke off, and I'm close to hitting pan!
Won't bore you guys with this guy again - basically a great champagne-beige shade that can be intense or toned down for day to day.
Another OG product that has been with me since day 1 - and I've finally hit pan! Seriously, this has lasted me for everrrrrrr. Basically, my staple, perfect eyebrow powder.
NYX Control Freak Eyebrow Gel
Technically I use the Essence clear brow gel but the tube is SO disgusting I couldn't bear to show it on the blog lmao. Any clear brow gel will do!
Depending on the day, I'll either use this or the Heroine Make long and curl mascara. This is a failsafe though, gives quite a natural look but legit does not smudge.
I forgot to photograph them, but I also use the Marc Jacobs Highliner in black to tightline and the Too Faced Shadow Insurance as an eye primer (don't love it but trying to use it up!).
Depending on the day, I usually switch between a more "nude" look or a more "peachy-pink" look, both are very natural and wearable though!
THE NUDE LOOK //
Maybelline Colour Tattoo Leather in Creamy Beige
This product has definitely become a staple! I've heard it's quite similar to MAC Groundwork paint pot - it's essentially a light, taupey brown shade that just creates the perfect natural wash of shadow all over the lid. Very often I'll apply this messily all over the lid and be done! It's pigmented, creamy and blends so easily!
If I want to get a little more fancy with the eyes, I'll add some of the deeper shades into the crease and outer corner for added definition. This palette is perfect for everyday and so easy to create no-fuss looks or to use with other shadows!
My favourite blush ever! Such warm, golden goodness.
Again, a product I reach for so often! It's my perfect MLBB, no-fuss lip shade. I love pairing this with Warm Soul as they both kind of have that warmer nude look to them.
THE PEACH LOOK //
Honestly my favourite cream/liquid shadow formula - so intensely metallic and pigmented and legit lasts forever with barely any creasing! I can easily do a stripe on the eyelid and blend it out with a brush and have it look like a different shade in the crease! Rio de Rose Gold is a gorgeous warm rose gold shade that isn't too coppery or orange.
Often I wear the Josie Maran shadow alone, but sometimes I will put some warm shades in the crease or darker colours in the outer corner. I don't often talk about this palette - I'm not sure if it's even still available - but it's been a staple in my collection for ages. I actually use the "bronzer" and "blush" shades most as eyeshadows because they're warm and delicious in the crease!
Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso
You guys know I have a plethora of peachy-pink blushes to choose from, so this changes daily but, my current fave is Luminoso. Such a beautiful peach that looks natural and glowy on the skin.
Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in Understudy
I don't talk about this lipstick enough but it's definitely up there with my favourites. The formula is divine - pigmented, creamy and very nourishing. This shade is beautiful too - it's a peachy pink but with more of a rosy-nude pull.
If I want a more natural, nothing-y, no fuss lip, I'll opt for this. It's just sheer and easy and keeps my lips hydrated!
Phew, that was kind of a long post but hopefully you enjoyed it and I felt like it was worth running you guys through all the products I've been using so consistently! I know things have been quieter on the blog recently and I do apologise, but Uni and work have been hectic and I haven't really had the energy to blog with the enthusiasm and effort that I want to! I anticipate that it will be quiet in the next month as assessment ramps up again, but once I'm done, I'll hopefully be back to blogging at full capacity!
