It's been a minute since my last all-out haul, and to be fair, I really didn't intend for all this stuff to just accumulate! It did though, and when I realised a had a box full of new products, I figured I should haul them. This is roughly half purchased myself and half sent to me by PR - just a heads up! From next week though we should be (hopefully!) back to regular posts as I will be done with uni and exams for the year! Strap in, it's a long one!
Rimmel Magnif'eyes Eyeshadow Palettes in Colour*, Nude*, Blush* and Smoke*
This is Rimmel's latest launch and it's quite an exciting one! They've finally come out with large 12 pan eyeshadow palettes! I think it's a great launch, BUT I do think they're a bit dated (shade and packaging-wise. Don't they remind you of the old Chi Chi palettes?). I feel like they definitely missed the opportunity to have a super warm, red-orange palette, and even purples which are coming into trend now. I feel like their colour choices are like three years too late. They've definitely taken inspiration from the Urban Decay Naked palettes which I feel like is already over done! I do like the shades in here though (with the exception of Smoke - that stuff's way too greeeey for me), especially Colour which is a bit more unique. The formula is okay, a bit dry and average pigmentation, but they blend well and look good on. I think I'll do a big swatch post of these though so keep an eye out! :)
Rimmel Wonderwing Eyeliner*
This is a felt tip liquid eyeliner pen with an almost wing shaped stamp on the end. I think it is quite intuitive because the shape is there, but it's still easy to use like a normal pen liner. That being said, it's not as opaque black as I'd like, and I find it bleeds a bit. It also washed away immediately when I tested it on my hand, so not a great sign for lasting power!
Rimmel Wonder'fully Real Mascara*
I am yet to try this or even open it - I probably won't open it because I am really not a fan of Rimmel mascaras! They tend to do nothing for my lashes - just weigh them down and are very smudgey.
Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour in Blue Iris*, Shadow* and Pitch Black*
I was sent a surprise Halloween package which included these lip colours! I haven't tried the matte liquid lipsticks from Rimmel yet so I'm kind of excited. Can't say I have grey, black or dark blue liquid lipsticks, so definitely interesting additions to my collection. I'm interested to see if these mix well and if I can make any cool colours!
Covergirl Katy Kat Matte Lipstick in Perry Panther*
Another one from the Halloween package. Again kind of excited to have a black lipstick! Curious to see how this mixes and if I can make other shades darker. Otherwise I'm kind of tempted to dip my toe into the goth world...
Covergirl Outlast All Day Powder* and Concealer*
I was very luckily sent these new complexion offerings from Covergirl. I'm yet to try the powder but it looks promising! I've been using the concealer under my eyes (I have fair which is definitely more of a highlighting colour for me) and so far I'm really liking it! I think the coverage is a bit better than Maybelline Fit Me but doesn't crease or look crepey at all.
Mecca Cosmetica Lip de Luscious in Peach Shimmer
To celebrate Mecca's 20th anniversary, they had special beauty loop boxes this quarter. In each box they were giving away full sized products! I'm actually about to drop off of level one so I thank my lucky stars I was eligible haha. Anyway, this is a tinted lip balm that smells like marshmallows! The tint is barely noticeable tbh, but I'm enjoying throwing this on throughout the day.
It was Sephora's 20% off sale recently and although notoriously almost all the good stuff was sold out, they actually had the things I wanted!
Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer
Isn't it funny how we were all inundated with a tsunami of Fenty reviews and now there's...barely anyone talking about them? Aside from the latest holiday collection of course. I'm interested to see if anyone is still regularly using Fenty products considering so many initial reviews were glowing. Anyway, at first I was like OMG I NEED EVERYTHING, but once I'd watched my 47th review, I realised I really didn't need anything, and actually not much of it super appealed to me personally.
The one thing that caught my eye was the thing I thought I could easily skip. I literally didn't want the Gloss Bomb at all, but the more I saw it on different people, the more it appealed to me. It really is the perfect, universal rosey-nude-brown shade. It's very sheer (sheerer than expected) but looks very pretty on the lips, and gives a gorgeous lacquered shine. It is comparatively thicker and stickier than glosses I typically go for, but it's bearable and not globby. You definitely pay for the shine in the thickness of it.
Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Eyeshadow Palette
Ah! I succumbed! Originally I wasn't going to get this because hello it's esspensive af, but it came in stock just in time for the sale and I CAVED. It's just SO PRETTY. There are some really unique shades in here (the purples and the duochromes) that make it different to every other warm palette I have. Theres just something about the shade range that really inspires me! I will have a full review and swatch post up and some point though so I won't dwell here. So far so good though, the quality is really nice!
I finaalllly bought a bunch of The Ordinary stuff! I ended up making an order from Victoria Health (a UK website) because even with shipping (which was quite fast!), they ended up being significantly cheaper. Plus they had all products in stock so it was a one-stop shop! I actually plan on finishing my current skincare products first (a lot of them are almost empty) before I get to using these - so no reviews for a little while! I'll keep you guys posted though!
The Ordinary High Adherence Silicone Primer
I have been using this and the foundation though and so far so good! I haven't actually used them independently of each other so I'm not sure if one is better than the other, so still some testing to be done! This primer is nice though. Don't be put off by Silicone in the title - it's more of a gel creme consistency sort of like my fave Max Factor Face Finity Primer.
The Ordinary Coverage Foundation in 2.0YG
Totally guessed my shade and boy was I lucky! This is a bang on match! So far I really love this - the coverage is a good medium (buildable) and the finish is a natural satin. On me (with the aforementioned primer) it actually lasts really well. I was apprehensive because of Sharon's (who I trust and love!) review - she really didn't like it because her oil came straight through, but on me it actually lasts better than many other foundations! Again, it might actually be the primer doing all the work.
The Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12%
From what I hear, this is one of their best vitamin C serums. It's not the strongest they offer, but apparently the texture is the nicest. Excited to use this once I finish my Hylamide Vitamin C Booster - I suspect they're very similar.
The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
Apparently this works wonders for scarred and blemished skin! I'm currently using another serum which has niacinimide in it, so once I'm done with that I'll be right on this!
The Ordinary 100% Cold-Pressed Virgin Marula Oil
I actually haven't heard that many people talking about this, but I wanted to try out ~marula~ oil without dropping a bomb on the Drunk Elephant one. Hopefully this works out!
The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
This is definitely a product I'm a bit wary of using - it sounds extreme! In fact, it's not even available in Australia. Bit of a loophole getting it from another website (you can also get it from Asos I think) but I really wanted to try it since I've heard good things and it's so affordable!
I made my first order from Jolse because I wanted to try a couple of COSRX products my friends rave about - and they were having a sale! They generously threw in a bunch of samples - including blotting paper which I thought was cool!
COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser
I needed a new basic cleanser and my friends swear by this one! I'm yet to try it but I trust my friends haha!
COSRX Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence
I'm almost finished my Elemis brightening essence type product so I thought I better try out some alternatives. Again, my friend swears by this for evening her skintone so I've got high hopes! It's my first time trying out COSRX but I'm excited to - I've heard such great things about them!
Have you tried any of the products I picked up? Let me know your thoughts!
