Elemis is not a brand I hear a lot about, but one I've always been curious about! They are a leading luxury skincare brand from the UK that offer an array of skin and body products. I was so excited to see that they had a display set up at Obsession 2015 and the two lovely Elemis gals gave a few demos of some of their key products, all of which felt amazing! Our hands were extremely soft afterward ;) In our goodie bag, they kindly included four deluxe sized samples for us to try; the Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Facial Wash*, Papaya Enzyme Peel*, Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules* and Pro-Collagen Marine Cream*. I've been using these products for the last couple of weeks, and am ready to report back!
Just the name of this cleanser had me excited! You guys know I'm all about that chemical exfoliant life and this cleanser is a gentle way of incorporating it into your daily routine. It is supposedly smoothing, refining and helps slough away dead skin cells. I've been using this cleanser every morning, and while it hasn't made an overwhelming difference, I do think it has helped! It is very gentle and not abrasive or tingly/stingy in any way. It has a light, almost milky, cream-gel texture which doesn't lather, but more so refreshes the skin. My skin feels clean and fresh afterward - it's not drying, nor is it moisturising but doesn't leave my skin feeling uncomfortable at all! Over the past few weeks, my skin is looking brighter and feeling smoother! While I have been using a few other new brightening products, and I do think this cleanser has helped with that!
I was also really excited to try this as I haven't tried many (if any) "peels" that you apply like a facial mask, and wash off. This is a "non-granular exfoliating cream...powered by the fruit enzyme action of papaya and pineapple". There actually aren't any explicit instructions as to how to use this product, so I just apply it to my slightly damp skin and leave it for around 15 minutes. It does dry slightly and it doesn't tingle overly much, but I do feel like its doing something. Once I rinse it off, my skin feels super smooth and does look a lot brighter! This treatment is a bit of a luxury in my routine, I'd only use it once or twice a week, but its definitely something I think will help even and brighten my skin.
I've actually since finished this little tub of capsules! It came with 14; 7 pink for daytime and 7 green for nighttime. I believe the only difference between them is the scent. Speaking of, I did find these to be quite heavily fragranced, so I don't think they'd necessarily be the best for sensitive skin. The scent was lovely, but in my opinion, a bit unnecessary! Basically, you break the little tops off the capsules and squeeze out what is pure moringa oil. These will supposedly help renew skin elasticity and restore a youthful glow. As you guys know - I'm all about the facial oils! I liked this one, but I didn't find that it did anything particularly special or outstanding that makes it worth the money. The oil was quite thick, and like I said, fragranced. I found it very moisturising, and although it is thick, it absorbed into my skin well and didn't disturb makeup on top. They were a pleasure to use, but nothing special for me!
I believe this is their one of their best selling moisturisers and is actually aimed towards those concerned with aging, hence "collagen" in the name. Therefore, I'm really not the best person to trial this for its anti-aging claims (reducing fine lines and wrinkles). I have been using it as my night cream for the past couple of weeks though (it also works well during the day/under makeup) and while I like it, I just don't see anything special about it, especially for how much it retails for! It has a gel-cream consistency that sinks in well, and I find it decently hydrating, smoothing etc, etc but like I said, I guess I'm really not the person who can appreciate the anti-ageing properties! It is a lovely moisturiser nonetheless though!
These products have definitely made a lovely, luxury addition to my routine! The two exfoliant products are definitely ones I will continue to use and enjoy, but unfortunately I can't really recommend the two anti-ageing products unless you have those concerns and an accomodating budget!
Have you tried any Elemis products?
