Slowly, but surely, I've been making my way downtown through quite a few products! Sort of justifies the huge amount of hair and skincare products I've come into the possession of...right? Anyway, let's dig into the empties!
Kerastase Discipline Bain Fluidealiste* and Fondant Fluidealiste*
Kerastase is definitely the most luxurious haircare brand I've ever used (I mean, look at those product names!). When it comes to shampoo and conditioner, I'm really not fussy and will usually go for whatever is the cheapest. When I was offered to be sent these, of course I said yes! These products are absolutely gorgeous, both inside and out. I find them to be really quite moisturising, but never leave my hair feeling heavy or oily. I do wish the conditioner was a little thicker and more hydrating, but the mask in the same line makes up for that (still got quite a bit left of that one :D ). One of the main claims is anti-frizz, and while I don't have particularly frizzy hair, I think it would definitely help in that department and generally my hair is left sleek and shiny! Overall, these are gorgeous but since I've cut a lot of my hair off, it's not very damaged and doesn't need as much TLC.
Repurchase? If I had the means, I definitely would, but for now I just can't justify or afford the purchase!
Revlon Colorstay Top Coat
This one is a couple of years old and it finally bit the bullet! I only have a little left, and gradually it just got way too thick and goopy to use. I did love this though, and it was probably the top coat that got me into wearing top coat! It left a glassy smooth shine and definitely improved the lasting power of my polish. While it wasn't the fastest drying, I found it really helped dry all the layers of polish underneath it!
Repurchase? Not right now, but I'd consider it in the future!
Kosmea Facial Cleansing Wipes*
I was really excited to try these seeing as they are from Kosmea who make one of my favourite rose hip oils! These do contain rose hip oil, so I thought they would be super moist and quite hydrating, but actually I didn't find them to be anything special at all. They retail for $9.95 which is way more than I would ever pay for wipes, especially considering these were average. In fact, they even had a bit of trouble taking of non-waterproof mascara, left my face a little on the dry side and could have been more moist!
Repurchase? No.
Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner*
This one was sent to me by RY.com aaages ago, and I've only just finished it up after using it on and off. I absolutely loved this toner. It was probably the first chemically exfoliating product I ever used and it really opened my eyes to the joys of chemical exfoliators! It's very gentle so you can use it every night which I did, and it's a great product if you're unsure about chemical exfoliators!
Repurchase? I definitely would in the future, but for now have quite a few toners/chemical exfoliators to get through!
Vanessa Megan Rosehip Revitalising Face Oil*
Another empties, another facial oil! I've been going through these so quickly! This one was really great, but nothing particularly special. It smelt quite strongly of lemongrass so that's something to note, but I think I gradually got used to it and it really didn't bother me at all by the end! It's moisturising, absorbs well and doesn't feel uncomfortable or greasy!
Repurchase? While I liked it, it wasn't anything special so I probably wouldn't repurchase anytime soon.
Elemis Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules*
More face oil! These ones were little capsules filled with pure moringa oil I believe. I found the oil quite thick, and the smell was very potent which could be bothersome to some people. I found these quite intensely moisturising but they weren't my favourite facial oil to be honest! I also didn't love the capsule packaging because I often found there was more oil in them than I would usually use.
Repurchase? I think there are better facial oils out there and for much cheaper!
Trilogy Eye Contour Cream
I think I got this one for free from a Facebook promotion haha! It's actually not completely finished but I haven't used it in an age, and it's smells a bit funky. While I liked this, I didn't think much of it. There are other eye creams I much prefer!
Repurchase? No.
Mario Badescu Buffering Lotion
MA BAE. I pretty much love this stuff. It's probably the only spot treatment I've tried that actually makes a difference with cystic acne, which is the main acne I have. It helps reduce the spot and while it does take a while to do so, it's faster than if I were to apply nothing at all! I find it somewhat effective on whiteheads as well!
Repurchase? Already have actually!
Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla & Macadamia
This is my second tub of the Nivea Lip Butters and I do really like them. One incident that has stuck out to me is when I had really dry, itchy lips, and this brought them back to their soft and hydrated state. I've since moved onto bigger and better things (The Body Shop Aloe Lip Care!) but this one is an excellent drugstore option.
Repurchase? Definitely would in the future but not right now!
Laura Mercier Foundation Primer
A hand me down from my sister...about two years ago. I used it for a couple of months back then and really liked it but it STANK. I'm not sure if that's the original smell, or the smell of a disgustingly off product, but I haven't used it in yonkers so definitely time to throw it out!
Repurchase? Perhaps the radiance or oil free version? But for now I have a lot of primers to get through!
Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream
Aaah memz. I loved this BB cream! With light-medium coverage, a nice lightweight texture, and a non-orangey colour, it was the perfect everyday product. I didn't find the Salicylic acid to do anything, but the lasting power was pretty good and I didn't get too oily from it!
Repurchase? I would, but I have a lot of BB creams and light coverage bases to get through!
L'oreal Telescopic Waterproof Mascara
Unfortunately discontinued but this guy has been going strong for longer than I'd like to admit. I didn't like it at the beginning, but once it dried out a little, it didn't clump up as much and lengthened and held a curl excellently. Farewell my friend!
Repurchase? If it wasn't discontinued!
THAT'S IT FOLKS. A long post so kudos if you stuck it out! Lawd knows my hands are a bit tired right now...
