Hey guys! Today I'm finally wrapping up my skincare series with my nighttime skincare routine! I know that the past few months' posts have been pretty skincare heavy but I think this one will be the last (for a while!)! I must say though, an updated routine post was long overdue and I'm really happy with the routine I do have at the moment. In case you missed them, you can check out my posts about my morning skincare routine and current cleansers!
La Roche-Posay Serozinc
I actually only started using this recently - I bought it in the last Priceline 40% off sale. The toner I was using was La Roche-Posay Sensi White Lotion which I talked about in my empties post. I had been using that for a good while - like a year? I did quite like it but definitely wanted to try something new. Right now, I'm not sure how I feel about Serozinc! I'm using it on a cotton pad as opposed to as a mist and I just don't think it's as potent or super effective in the way I want it to be. It literally just feels like water! I'll see how I go with it but I may have to make this my mist toner and then find another toner to use, possibly something that's more pore refining or brightening (any recommendations??).
Pixi Glow Tonic
I pretty much always have some sort of chemically exfoliating toner in my stash that I will use around twice a week. This particular one has glycolic acid and I find it to be very brightening! It's quite gentle so a good one to start out with I think. I could probably use this daily but I only have a small bottle so I want to make it last!
Trilogy Hydrating Mist Toner*
I'm high maintenance so of course I just have to use two toners every night. I got into the habit of using a mist toner after a more "clarifying" toner just to add the moisture back into my skin, and because...why not? I've already used up a whole bottle of this particular one and I do really like it. The mist itself is super fine and I find it definitely hydrates and refreshes my skin. It also works well as a finishing spray for makeup!
Bliss Peeling Groovy Facial Serum*
I've been using this serum for several months now, and I'm halfway though the bottle! This is an extremely liquidy serum that is supposed to be like a "peel", aka brightening, smoothing etc but is very gentle as it doesn't contain any AHAs. I actually find AHAs to be very effective on my skin, but this is a great product for those with sensitive skin or beginners in the realm of exfoliating serums. I do quite like this and because it's quite gentle I can use it every night. It's not super potent but over time I do think it has helped smooth out my skin and help fade my acne scars. That being said, it hasn't really blown me away, but it's a good product.
Qlabo Eauphoria Complete Moisture Treatment*
Again, overkill with two serums? Pfft. This serum serves a different purpose so it definitely has a place in my routine! Qlabo is a swiss-made brand and they don't have a huge range of products, but the quality is definitely there. Among other ingredients, this serum contains niacinamide and hyaluronic acid which means it really moisturises the skin deep down! It's quite like Hydraluron with a gel like consistency, but I find this to be more immediately mosturising (Hydraluron was a bit of a let down for me tbh!).
People for Plants Face Oil
You guys know I'm always using a new face oil, and this is the one that's currently in my routine! I'm not too fussy when it comes to oils, just as long as they moisturise my skin and do something to brighten and smooth. This particular one contains argan and pomegranate oils and I find it to do the job just fine. It ticks all the boxes and I will happily use it up but it hasn't really wowed me enough to repurchase!
Benzac AC 5% Acne Gel
I spoke about this in my morning routine and I do use it at night as well. An absolute staple for me! I find it to be an extremely effective spot treatment but not drying at all!
Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream*
When it comes to eye creams, I really don't mind what I use. It's probably an unnecessary step for me as I don't have particularly dry undereyes, nor do I have any fine lines or wrinkles but I guess it's a preventative measure worth taking? I really like this one from Antipodes. It's similar to their Avocado Pear Night Cream in that it has an oiliness to it, but it's really heavy or overbearing. In fact when I was travelling I mistakenly used this as my night cream and my skin was fine with it haha!
Garnier Miracle Sleeping Cream
I recently finished the Antipodes night cream which I was using for a while, and I'm back to this one which I was halfway through. I'm almost finished it now! I really like this night cream - it has a very curious texture! It's like a creamy jelly that settles perfectly level in the jar. It feels so nice, just like soft and I don't know why 'melted marshmallow' comes to mind but it does... :P It's a really lovely night cream though, very moisturising but also fairly lightweight and comfortable on the skin.
