Monthly Favourites // July 2018

So we are well and truly into the second half of the year...how that happened, I have no idea. I'm back at uni too (last semester!) so things are gettin' real and before you know it - I'll be graduating!! :O Exciting things happening at the end of the year though - I'm going on a trip to South Korea and Japan! Watch me spend ALL of the money on J and K-Beauty hahaha. Anyways, that's my news - onto this month's favourites because I actually have things to talk about this month!

bliv Bright is Right Original Japan Silk Mask*
I've had these for a little while, but it's been the past couple of months that I've actually been using them semi-regularly! I've used them about once a fortnight and have noticed some pretty good results! After any sheet mask, and these in particular, my skin generally looks brighter, more even and more moisturised. I definitely notice more results with regular use though (just up to me to actually remember to use them!). I particularly like these ones because the actual (silk!?) mask is super soft and feels nice on the skin. It doesn't fit my face completely but does the job. It's also wet enough that the mask doesn't dry in 10 mins, but not too wet that the face is left sopping wet after and needs to be rinsed/dried haha.

Sunsense Moisturising Face SPF 50+ for Face and Neck*
I've been using this for a good few months now, but it's such a basic product that I always forget to mention it! I use this as my day time moisturiser on days that I'm not wearing makeup and it works really well! It's got very high protection, but doesn't feel thick or greasy like a typical sunscreen, and doesn't leave a white cast. It's not the most moisturising thing ever, but it does a really good job on my oily/combo skin, and doesn't make me any more oilier than I would normally. I'd say it's just a touch thick for underneath makeup, but on drier skins I think it would work fine! It's just a really good texture - fairly thin - that absorbs really well into the skin!

I'm mentioning this (and the blush) again because I'm still loving them! This has been my (almost) daily bronzer since I got it. It's got such an amazing formula: very soft, well pigmented (but not so much so, and it still blends out easily) and is a really nice colour. That being said, some days when I am doing a more cool-toned look, this can be a bit orange, but otherwise I find the colour to be very warming and adds a lot of dimension to my face!

If you want to see swatches and read my full thoughts on this (and the bronzer), you can check out my review! Basically, I love this blush! The colour is so flattering - the perfect mix of peach, nude and pink, and the formula is perfect - pigmented enough but can still be blended out really easily!

It's been a minute since I've mentioned this highlighter, but it's pretty constant in my makeup rotation! It's the perfect pinky beige champagne colour that goes with both cool and warm looks. It's such an amazing formula too, really buttery and sheeny and blends right into the skin - not glittery at all and really doesn't emphasise texture!

Ciate Liquid Velvet in Sydney
Not too long ago, my friend did a makeup clearout and I managed to reap the benefits haha (and then I did my own clearout lmao). This was one of her hand-me-downs (as is the next lipstick) and I've been getting good use out of it! The colour is so lovely, wearable and flattering! It's very similar to a Stila Patina vibe, but a bit more pink toned I'd say! So it's more of a my lips but better mauvey-pink shade. The formula is really nice too, it's a liquid lipstick with a more satin finish, but it lasts really well - basically all day with no touchups (albeit faded!)!

Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color in Lilac
Lately I've just been feeling the more neutral and cool tones, I think it must be the colder weather! My wardrobe has also been erring on the cooler side to I think that influences my makeup haha. I've been using this lipstick a lot - it's like a mauvey-purple-pink shade - really flattering and wearable and goes with the more cool toned eyeshadow looks! I've been mostly wearing it on its own, but sometimes as a base and then with a brighter (like violet) lip colour blurred in the middle for a ombre/stained effect! The formula is really nice - super comfortable, a bit sheer (but still gives a lot of colour) and slightly moisturising.

What have you guys been loving this month!?
