Colour Families // The Grungy Greiges

Back with another Colour Families post! I'm hoping one day I'll eventually chronicle my entire makeup collection through this series... haha! Today we'll be looking at the grungy greiges (as you can see, I'm still loving that alliteration) which I was super into maybe a year or so ago. After shunning cool tones for the longest time - I suddenly embraced them whole heartedly! Well, on the lips that is - I'm still not really a fan of taupe eyeshadows (but gimme mauves any day). I'm less obsessed with them now, but I've amassed a decent enough collection of them that I can do a post! Also, I've taken a bit of freedom with 'greige' haha. Some of these are cooler brown nudes, some veer a lot into the purple/mauve family, but on the whole we're basically in the same colour family!

Colour Families // The Millennial Pinks

Whelp it's been about a year since my last colour families post which makes me sad because I love doing these! There's something about seeing a bunch of the same coloured makeup products together that makes me happy - which is probably why I love doing monochromatic looks so much! While I fully intend on keeping this series going - who knows how long it will be until my next one haha! Today though, we're diving into the millennial pinks aka THE colour of the moment! I've become absolutely obsessed with this shade in fashion and homewares, and naturally that obsession has bled into my makeup! It's kind of hard to find makeup items that are the perfect shade of ~millennial pink~ as it's such a pale colour and pinks in general can look so different on different skintones. So - most of these might be more of a "blushed pink nude", but I'm still super into them and they complement each other well!

In the Spotlight // Highlighters

I have another In the Spotlight post coming at you today, only this time we're literally in the spotlight as we take a look at my highlighter collection! It's about to get LOUIS LITT up in here! I've been meaning to do this post for a while and I think I'm pretty happy with my current collection. The Anastasia Beverly Hills x Nicole Glow Kit is calling my name though... but alas, here we are at the moment! I've tried to organise them by colour family for best comparison. I'll also try to be brief but we could be in for a long one!

Monthly Favourites // May 2016

Back here again, so soon. I want to apologise for my semi-absence round these parts the past month! I dropped from my usual two posts a week to just one as May has been hectic! I'm right back in the middle of assessment, plus it was my birthday and there were a few things going on! I probably won't post next week just because I'm currently drowning in assignments and have my one exam next Thursday, and after that we'll be free and clear and (hopefully) back to regularly scheduled program! Some pretty exciting things happened - I bought a new car! My old car (emphasis on OLD, it was legit 30 years old) finally broke down after like 5 years of being on its last legs. Parts kept going and we kept replacing them until finally it was just too costly to justify - may as well buy a new car which is what I've been saving for all this time right?? Yep, not to buy more makeup... Anyway, instead of 30, it's only 2 years old and it's a small lil zippy car and I'm pretty happy with it! But I'm broke now so the spending ban is BACK (tho obvs I made an exception for Sweet Peach). Also, yesterday I attended the Bloggers United Brisbane event which was absolutely amazing! I might do a post of the event and what we got in the mahoosive goodie bags, but I didn't take many photos at the event so we'll see. Let me know if you'd be interested! Anyway, into the goodz!

The USA Haul // Drugstore

'Ello, 'Ello! It's been a while hasn't it?! Well, I'm back from my three week trip to the US and of course, I return with a WHOPPER of a haul! Like my wishlist posts, I'm splitting it into a (somewhat) more manageable two parts; drugstore and high end! I guess it's also a good way to compare to my wishlist what I bought and what I didn't. Some items I skipped because I figured it would be easier to buy online (a. wouldn't have to lug it back, b. I didn't have much cash haha :P), and others, once I saw in the flesh, I decided against! I actually stuck pretty well to my list, and overall am super happy with my purchases! With regards to my actual trip...I had an amazing time! You can check out my Instagram for a snippet of my adventures, but I will sure be uploading some photos and travel posts on here! Anyway, let's get into the loot!

The USA Wishlist // Drugstore

Ever since we booked our flights to the US many months ago, I've been formulating my wishlist, albeit, mentally. Writing it down would make me realise just HOW MANY things I wanted and how much it would all cost... However, seeing as my trip is two weeks away (!!!), I figured I should probably sit down and write down a LEGIT wishlist. I ain't playin' yo, I got my excel spreadsheet going with products, prices and where to buy them - WISHLISTIN' IS SERIOUS BUSINESS. Legitimately though, it took me like half a day to do it all, researching what I wanted, looking up recommendations - it was an arduous task indeed. If I actually shared every single product with you guys...it would be a long-ass post. I figured I would tell y'all my must haves, and you guys can leave me your recommendations too! (feed me, enable me). A high end edition will be coming next week!
